I think this six inch size is perfect for making a birthday cake, which I did - eight perfect sized pieces of cake, with each layer torted to make a four layer cake - and they baked up quite well with just a small rise in the center. I got two of these and they look like they should last just about forever, so I hope to use them again and again, maybe on a tiered cake. Pan is deep enough so if you want to bake only one-layer little cake, it does pretty good job. I love thoes little cakes I end up creating using these amazing, cute cake pans. They are made of thick aluminium base and heats up evenly. So cakes will be evenly and thoroughly backed.
