 Wasn't sure what to expect - good pan!, By Carin (Massachusetts) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Wilton Decorator Preferred 12-Inch Square Pan (Kitchen) I wasn't sure what to expect with this pan and made a test cake to see if the upside down flower nail worked to bake the cake more evenly. The test cake and bottom, 2-layer tier of the wedding cake came out really well. I used the nail stuck through the center of the parchment paper and that seemed to really make a difference. I also used bake even strips (soaked in water and wrapped around the cake pan) to make sure the corners didn't cook faster than the rest of the cake. I was really pleased with the results. I used the 12" square, a 10" round, 8" round and a 6" round for a four tier wedding cake. The bottom layer as a square worked really well. I will definitely make sure to get Wilton "Decorator Preferred" pans for any other pans I buy, as most professional grade pans cost a lot more. Instead of buying the heating core they recommend, i used the metal nail flower holder that i got during my wilton classes, and it bakes perfectly =] |
